Foodies flock to the first day of the festival weekend

Foodies flock to the first day of the festival weekend

Written: 29 April 2017

The 14th Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink opened to thousands of visitors today keen to enjoy the early Bank Holiday weekend.

Eager food lovers indulged and discovered new South West flavours while the best of the region’s chef talent entertained with their culinary skills in the Cookery Theatre and Westcountry Bakery. The Festival was alive with the sights and smells of sausage making and artisan cheese workshops in the Darts Farm Teepees, kids learnt to cook with Fun Kitchen and visitors asked questions about foraging in the Festival Question Time tent.

This evening’s After Dark event will be headlined by the brilliant Leigh Coleman Band, who will entertain crowds with live music with support from Celine Dos Santos, local singer/song writer Yazzy and soulful Joanna Cooke.

Tickets for Sunday’s After Dark Party and the Festival on Sunday 30th April and Bank Holiday Monday 1st May are available on the gate.
