Grow Your Own!
The special area of the Festival encourages us all to get our hands dirty and experience the magic and goodness of growing our own food. The Fermoys team are on hand to offer advice and tips about growing fruit and vegetables. A new feature is an allotment competition between eight local allotment societies who have all designed Show Allotments for the Festival that demonstrate how they grow their own food. Visitors are asked to choose their favourite with prizes awarded to the three most popular.
As well as the gardens, there will be a Hoop-la stall for people to win garden-related prizes and a BBQ cooking demonstration with Weber BBQs showing how to cook dishes such as the classic ‘beer can chicken’.
