We're busy behind the scenes pulling together the features, chefs and musicians for the Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink 2017. With only 10 weeks to go, we have put together a list of ten things to look forward to at the 14th Festival, which falls across the early May bank holiday weekend (Saturday 29th April to Monday 1st May 2017).

1. Exhibitors: Visitors can enjoy some of the finest food and drink from producers in the South West. Our list of 2017 exhibitors can be found online which includes some Festival favourites as well as exciting new exhibitors.

2. Live Music: Talented live acts will perform throughout the day in the Exeter Castle Courtyard, allowing visitors to sit down and enjoy great food, drink and music.

3. Chef Demonstrations: Learn new culinary skills from some of the best chefs in the South West, including co-founder Michael Caines MBE. These demonstrations are not to be missed, so make sure you grab a seat in the Festival Cookery Theatre and learn from the highly regarded chefs.

4. Westcountry Bakery: Back by popular demand! The Westcountry Bakery will feature baking experts demonstrating delicious bread, cake and pastry recipes.

5. Activities for the whole family: There’s plenty to keep the little ones entertained over the weekend! In the Dart’s Farm 'Food is Fun' Teepees there’s cake decorating, pizza and sausage making. With this, and so much more, the Exeter Food Festival is a perfect day out for the whole family!

6. Festival Question Time: Get your burning questions answered whilst debating key food and nutrition issues with a panel of experts in the live Festival Question Time. The BBC Radio Devon sessions will take place throughout the three-day weekend.

7. The Festival Bar: Sample some of the South West's finest drinks in the Festival Bar located in the Exeter Castle courtyard, serving visitors throughout the day and into the evening at the After Dark Music Festivals.

8. VIP Lounge: Enjoy hospitality in the VIP Lounge (sponsored by the Exeter Golf and Country Club) including two free drinks, afternoon tea and a free mini spa treatment (T&Cs apply). Guests can also enjoy exclusive tasting sessions from quality South West producers throughout the day.

9. Fresh at the Festival: Meet our 8 Fresh at the Festival exhibitors who have been in business for less than 3 years. From seaweed to artisan chocolate, there is something to suit every taste.

10. After Dark Music Festival: Extend your visit to the Festival into the evening, and attend our After Dark Music Festivals on Friday, Saturday or Sunday night. The finest drinks in the South West will be flowing and we’ve got quality headliners to match!

You’re invited to a very special dinner... You’re invited to celebrate the collective talent of seven of the South West's most respected chefs, at the Exeter Golf and Country Club on Wednesday 26th April 2017.

The annual 7 Chef's Dinner, led by highly acclaimed Michael Caines MBE, will consist of a seven course dinner including canapes on arrival. Each chef will introduce their dish that will showcase some of the highest quality produce from this region. Tickets are priced at £120 per person, and will include a carefully selected wine flight to compliment the courses.

To order tickets: Call Sarah-Louise on 01395 200925 or email 7chefs@exeterfoodanddrinkfestival.co.uk.
