Newsletter 6: Exciting new exhibitors at the Festival

Visitors to the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink can expect to find a wide array of regional goodies including another collection of 'Fresh at the Festival' exhibitors.

'Fresh at the Festival' champions those who have been in business fewer than 3 years. Exhibitors are offered discounted participation, training and free promotion; one of the initiatives of Exeter Food Festival to lend a hand to local start-ups.

This year, the Fresh at the Festival exhibitors include:

  • Barbican Botanist Gin, created by Plymouth-based duo Doreen Canale-Dow and Warren Dow. Produced in small batches, the gin is handcrafted and distilled in the South West. 
  • Ebb Tides was established in 2016 by founder Tony Coulson. The seaweed delicacies are sustainably harvested from a stretch of Devon’s picturesque south coast.
  • Culmstock Chilli Co was created by Nigel and Coralie Howard whose passions lie in growing beautiful and tasty chilli plants for people to take home and continue to grow on their own windowsills. 
  • Creber's Rock Apocryphal Cider is slowly fermented by wild yeasts, at Giles Nicholson's cidery on Dartmoor, before being bottled on the lees. It is then hand riddled over several months and aged for a year or more to produce a naturally sparkling vintage cider.

Tickets available for the 7 Chefs Dinner

The annual 7 Chefs Dinner is taking place on Wednesday 26th April 2017 at the Exeter Golf and Country Club. Led by highly acclaimed Michael Caines MBE, the evening will consist of a seven course dinner including canapes on arrival. Each chef will introduce their dish and each will showcase some of the highest quality produce from this region.

Tickets are priced at £120 per person, and will include a carefully selected wine flight to compliment the courses.
