Have you booked your tickets for the Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink? The three-day foodie festival is taking place over the early May bank holiday weekend, and features over 30 chefs (7 with Michelin-stars!), over 90 regional producers and local musicians to keep the atmosphere alive throughout the weekend.

The Westcountry Bakery Theatre is back by popular demand, take a look at the timetable on our website. Guaranteed to be another popular feature at this year’s food festival, here are three picks from the Westcountry Bakery that you really don’t want to miss!

  1. Vol au Vent – Richard Hunt

This year’s host, Richard Hunt, will take to the stage on Saturday at 15.30 to demonstrate how to modernise that much loved 70s classic, the Vol au Vent. The simple puff pastry filled canape will be bought back to life, and you’ll be sure to be serving them at your next dinner party!

  1. Funfetti Raspberry Cake – Kate Shirazi, Cake-a-doodle do

What better way to learn how to bake than with Kate Shirazi of Cake-a-doodle-do? Kate will be showing you how to master a Funfetti Raspberry Cake that will rival any of your previous bakes. If you have a sweet tooth then this is for you!

  1. Devon Pasty Making – Simon Bryon Edmond – Take A Chunk

We all love the Cornish classic! But while you’re in this county, Simon Bryon Edmond of Chunk of Devon will show you just how good they can be from a Devonian pasty maker.
