Don't miss the Darts Farm Food is Fun Tipi heaven

Welcome back for the second year of the taste and mind exploding experience of the Food is Fun Tipis. Sponsored and organised by Darts Farm and our Slow Food friends, local producers, chefs and experts. Join us to discover the essence of local and artisan food and drink, soak up the knowledge, share in the relaxing atmosphere and most of all enjoy yourselves, because ‘Food is Fun'.

AGA Taste Cookery Theatre
Aga - Exeter Food festival

Our AGA taste cookery theatre will be stage to an epic selection of some of the best artisan food and drink producers and chefs. With cookery demonstrations from legendary chefs Michael Caines, Mark Hix and Chris Archambault and cook-off challenges with everyone from our Tuscan friends to the local Cubs and Brownies.

Respected wine writer Susy Atkins is returning for her renowned Westcountry Wines Taste Workshop and we are joined by the next generation of foodies from Exmouth Community College, Cutting Edge Kitchen and The Maynard School, who will take the stage with their flamboyant demonstrations on everything from local sustainable fishing to Sushi making. For a touch of continental flare we are joined by our talented Tuscan guests who will share their incredible skills and knowledge through a series of demonstrations and involvement in all that happens in the AGA Taste Cookery Theatre.

Our main theme is ‘Understanding the Artisan', with the Butchers, Bakers, Ale Brewers, Cider Makers and Cheese Makers. This series of events will get down to the knitty gritty of why artisans and their produce are so unique and deservedly celebrated. Brimming with knowledge, craft, skill and passion these workshops will give you an insight their world and a chance to see them at work and taste their delicious produce.

Knowledge and Taste Tipis with Slow Food Devon and our Tuscan friends

Join us around our wood fired oven and get hands on with making and baking workshops on bread, pasta, sausages and pizza. Become a mini farmer with Darts Farm and start your own mini vegetable patch to take home.

For a real challenge, test your taste buds and tantalise your nostrils with our taste challenge sensory perception test. Marvel at in-tent live art with our resident artist Sarah Bell, who will be painting some of the beautiful food and characters in the teepees. Find out about Slow Food, what it is and why you should be involved in the Slow Food education area. Join your local education ranger James Chubb from East Devon in exploring the flora and fauna and exciting potential gourmet goodies found in our natural landscape.

Tuscan-Devon Twinning Once again a group of Tuscan chefs, cheese makers, and artisan food producers are joining us as part of the Festival initiative to twin Tuscany and Devon as food regions. Utilising some of the finest West Country produce and ingredients, as well as their own outstanding Tuscan produce, they will be making pasta, offering cheese tastings, cooking in the wood fired oven and sharing their unique Tuscan food culture - while at the same time learning about our equally rich and unique West Country food culture.
